When a seamstress sews an elaborate quilt, there's thoughtful consideration of fabric quality, thread, the method and the time to complete the product. In a similar way, Suzanne Spencer lives that philosophy through her in-depth reporting and anchoring in the news industry, giving careful attention to every detail of the storytelling process.
Suzanne began reporting for FOX 6 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in October 2017. As a general assignment nightside reporter, Suzanne covers everything from breaking news, to brutal Wisconsin winters, to crime and other meaningful issues. Before that, she was a special projects reporter and 10/11PM anchor at WSBT in South Bend, Indiana.
She was hired at WSBT as a multimedia journalist and quickly moved up the ranks. She had the opportunity to create a special projects unit and many of her reports were recognized by the Associated Press. Suzanne took home first place in "Best Feature" for her story: "Skillet Presidential Contest."
Suzanne broke indictments against a local sheriff, who would later be convicted and removed from office.
She covered the day when workers returned to the Berrien County Courthouse after a shooting left two bailiffs dead.
In a special report, Suzanne uncovered that female veterans in northern Indiana don’t have access to a gynecologic provider.
She also isn’t afraid to have a little fun at the St. Joseph County fair!
Suzanne grew up in Lafayette, Indiana and graduated from DePauw University with a major in English Writing and a minor in Media Studies. She is always pursuing meaningful relationships with those in her community. In her free time, Suzanne enjoys spending time with her husband and family, exploring new cities, attempting to cook and sewing.
